Why Unhealthy Snack Leads to Extra Weight??

Snack is often consumed outside the hours of breakfast, lunch or dinner. But sometimes, our tendency to choose unhealthy snack arises when we eat only to satisfy our stomach. Do you know if unhealthy snack is regularly consumed may lead to obesity, it can even trigger the disease such as diabetes and high blood tension?

How can it happen? Here I try to explain the how. When we wake up in the morning, our bodies actually need the amount of nutrition, but sometimes many people just ignore at it. They only consume snack or drink coffee or milk as their breakfast. There are even a more serious not to have breakfast at all. So, because the number of the nutrition is not enough consumed during breakfast-in this case the protein – from which we easily feel hungry and want to eat the snack to immediately replace the feeling of hunger that catch.

Snack even is repeated as many as 2-3 times a day in between the time you eat. Snack you eat will increase blood sugar level which results in a substantial emission of insulin by pancreas. The insulin removes sugar from blood sugar, and thirst for more carbs. This cycle repeats itself 2-3 times during the day as you repeatedly consume unhealthy snack and lots of sugar also food contains more carbohydrates such as: greasy food, cookies, candy, chocolate, bread, chips, etc..

Well then, This vicious cycle constitutes one of the major reasons for diabetes, high blood pressure and extra weight since insulin will turn excessed sugar into fat, so you can experience and culminate on obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.

The idea here is that the snack is not prohibited to be eaten, but it's good when your body is feeling hungry in between the meal hours, you do the following first:

  • Check first on the stomach if this really should eat or not?
  • Try drinking a glass of water to find the answer, because sometimes our bodies send signals that doesn’t always mean starving to eat, but need a drink.
  • If after drinking water does not help your hunger, this mean you have to eat snack. But what kind of snack is healthy and can ease hunger? Try to consume fruit like apple, pear or Markisa. Or you can also consume protein, such as boiled tempe or tofu.

For workers, it may be easier if you bring fruit for your snack as it can be eaten directly after washing. But if you just stay more at home, snack with protein may also be consumed.
